Happpy Memorial Day Weekend to all! We were thrilled to have Kyle home for Sunday and Memorial day as well. As you may have guessed from all the photos, we spent the morning at the zoo and a lot of fun was had by all! It was a beautiful hot and humid day in Milwaukee, but we made the best of it by getting some frozen custard at Kopps. We tried a new flavor today that we all loved called raspberry lemon shortbread. It was divine and will be a new addition to my favorite flavor list. The boys enjoyed spending the weeked with their dad, and so did mom. We feel reconnected as a family after having some fun together and ready to go and face the world tomorrow. Kyle has one more week on the GI Surgery team and on June 1st will start cardio-thoracic surgery, well he won't actually be doing the surgeries, but he will be there in the middle of it all. I feel a little guilty that I didn't spend too much time today thinking about those who have passed on, but we sure did celebrate life, and I think they would be happy that we did.

Freezing in May
I keep thinking it is going to warm up, and yet today I am still in long sleeves and my kids are sleeping in their winter PJ's tonight. We are adjusting several new changes in our family since yesterday having to do with callings. I was released from Young women after an almost 5 year streak and given the primary music leader calling. I am glad for a change and looking forward to having my Wednesday nights free, however when I said goodbye to the girls on Sunday it was quite emotional, I have truly grown to love them. I will also miss the women I have served with.
Kyle was released as secretary in the Elders Quorum and given the calling of second councilor. He has mixed feelings as this will require more time from his already busy schedule so I am hoping that somehow there will be enough time for all needful things.

Chicago with the girls! Happy mother's day to me!
Kyle gave me the most wonderful present for mother's day this year, an overnight trip with 7 girlfriends to Chicago! It was a blast! We shopped and ate pizza and stayed up way to0 late talking. We laughed and cried and just enjoyed the friendships we share. I feel so blessed to have such a great support network with all the ladies here and boy do we have fun! We are alread planning next year's trip.

sweet summer days
Ahhhh....finally the beauty of warm summer days has come to Milwaukee and it's only May 17th. We are basking in the summer sunshine and it is good for the soul. The best news of the month is that Elijah is sleeping through the night rather consistently. I count it as a supreme blessing! Kyle is working crazy hours in his surgery rotation, and the boys and I are trying to get along without him.
